Ridgeland, Miss., The Belhaven College Softball Team (13-10, 1-1) put up a valiant fight but dropped a double header to #4 Trevecca Nazarene University by scores of 7-9 and 0-2. Game 1

The Lady Blazers fell behind early 0-6, but fought back strong. The comeback was highlighted by Keresa Steichen's grand slam homerun in the 7th inning. Unfortunately, the Lady Blazers were unable to push anyone else across the plate.

Mallory Meadows (5-4) took the loss as she allowed 4 earned runs in 1 2/3 innings striking out 2. Salina Cervantes pitched 5 1/3 solid inning in relief as she allowed 2 earned runs and struck out 3.

Steichen added a sacrifice fly early in the ball game to make her totals 1-3 with 5 RBI in the game. Britney Webb tormented the base paths as she went 1-2 with a walk, 1 run scored, and 4 stolen bases in the game. Other Lady Blazers producing on offense were Jessica Eggold (1-4, run scored), Jor'Dan Orr (1-4, RBI, run scored), and Lauren Biediger (1-1, 2 walks, run scored).

Game 2

Sarah Burns (7-6) pitched a complete game gem in the second game but took the loss. She pitched 7 innings allowing no earned runs, striking out 7.

Trevecca's Britney Johnson pitched a gem of her own as she pitched 7 shutout innings, striking out 9.

The Lady Blazers will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Farmer's Branch, TX, to participate in the Oklahoma Christian University Tournament. Friday's games are: Lubbock Christian (12:00 PM), Oklahoma Christian (4:00 PM), and Kansas Wesleyan (6:00 PM).
