Cody Lott (5-1) threw a complete game, scattering five hits and striking out one Loyola hitter. Craig Barnes, Andrew Brouillette, and Bryan Stebbings each had two hits. Barnes had four RBI and a run scored.
For Loyola, Josh Borges led at the plate going 2 for 3. Chucky Benach (2-4) was tagged with the loss. He threw 5.1 innings and gave up eight runs, six earned on nine hits. He struck out five, but walked six. Thomas Gibbs threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. He gave up only one hit.
In the second game, Loyola led 3-1 before the Pilots scored three runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take an 11-5 win.
Cody Dees (1-0) earned the victory in relief for LSUS (21-8, 15-5 GCAC). He entered in the fifth and threw 3.1 innings and gave up one run on three hits and stuck out three. Starter Juan Leon gave up four runs on six hits and struck out seven in four plus innings of work. Andrew Brouillette was 3 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
For Loyola (9-20, 6-15 GCAC) Taylor Domengeaux (2-4) got the loss. He gave up seven runs on six hits in five innings of work. He struck out four in the outing. Wolfpack pitchers walked eight Pilot hitters. Josh Borges, Brian Mason, and Mike Kelly each had two hits. Borges was 9 for 15 on the weekend.
Loyola returns to action on Thursday against Kansas Wesleyan. First pitch at Segnette Field is slated for 6 p.m.
