Ridgeland, Miss., The Belhaven College Softball Team (16-16, 1-1) split a double header with the visiting Oklahoma Baptist University Lady Bison on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Blazers won the first game 13-1 and lost the second 2-3.

Game 1

Sarah Burns (9-7) picked up the victory in game 1 as she pitched 4 innings allowing 1 earned run, striking out 5, and walking 3. Salina Cervantes struck out the side in her one inning of relief.

Jor'Dan Orr paced the offense in game 1 as she went 4-4, with 4 RBIs, a double, and a run scored. Tiffany Ansley racked up 3 runs of her own, with a 3 run homerun in the 3rd. Ansley was 3-3 with 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Other Lady Blazers with offensive contributions were Britney Webb (1-3, walk, 2 runs scored, RBI), Jessica Eggold (2-3, RBI, 2 runs scored), Mallory Meadows (1-2, HR, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored), Meghan Pursell (1-3, run scored), Keresa Steichen (1-3, 2 runs scored), and Christy Pugh (2-3, DBL, RBI, run scored).

Game 2

Salina Cervantes started game one but took a no decision. Salina pitched a solid game as she struck out 8 batters in 6 innings and gave up 2 earned runs. Malory Meadows (6-7) took the loss in relief on an unearned run. Sarah Burns closed out the game by pitching the 7th inning.

Jor'Dan Orr, Mallory Meadows, and Christy Pugh had a multi-hit game. Biediger's lead off double in the 7th was the Lady Blazers only extra base hit in the contest.

The Lady Blazers will get the weekend of for Easter, and then come back next week to welcome Culver-Stockton University to Freedom Ridge on Tuesday. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
