The Lady Rams are 15-3 overall, while the Trevecca Lady Trojans sport an unblemished 12-0 record. The top-level competition won't be anything new for the Lady Rams, as Mobile has defeated #1 Oklahoma City, #2 Cal Baptist, #7 Shorter and #8 SCAD so far this season.
Something will have to give in the contest, as both teams have dominated their competition on the season and sport potent offenses, along with dominant pitching staffs. The Lady Rams have outscored opponents 110-29, while the Lady Trojans have outscored their opponents 113-26.
The Lady Trojans' pitching staff, led by Brittiany Johnson's 6-0 record and 0.00 ERA sports a collective 1.89 ERA, while Johnson also paces the offense with a 1.083 slugging percentage and .611 batting average.
Nikki Madden paces the Lady Rams with a 0.58 ERA and 5-1 record, while the staff has a collective ERA of 1.32. Yaicey Sojo paces the offense with a .556 batting average and .662 on base percentage. Sojo has 7 homers and 18 steals.
Lady Rams Climb to #6 in Polls....
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the latest NAIA Softball Top-25 Wednesday and the Lady Rams climbed from #13 to #6.
Mobile (15-3) received 225 votes, 7 shy of 5th-ranked SCAD, whom Mobile defeated 10-0 at the Gulf Coast Invitational. California Baptist is the new #1 team, and the Lady Rams split a double header at their place earlier in the season.
Fellow Gulf Coast Athletic Conference team William Carey University lept from no votes all the way up to 13th in the new ranking.
