Jackson, MS.  Lance Brewer and Brandon Chretien combined for a three hit shut out as William Carey improved to 14-7 in GCAC play with a 17-0 over Touglaoo College.

The Crusaders started the game off slow, but it would not take them long to get the offense started.  In the second inning the Crusaders scored four runs on two hits.  Ben Smith’s single would start things off scoring pinch runner Leon Farmer.  Jordan Prout tripled down the right field line, scoring two more runs.  Then a sacrifice fly by David Trisler would score another run for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders would tack on six more over the next three innings. Louis Rolon’s triple in the third inning would score one run.  Then a ground out to the infield by Pat Barnes scored another run.  In the fourth inning the Crusaders would score two more runs.  A wild pitch scored Prout and a sacrifice fly by Brandon Chretien would score Trisler.  The Crusaders added two more runs in the fifth inning.  B. Smith delivered his second hit of the day and scored on a sacrifice fly by Michael Lewis.  A single by Greg Alexander scored Prout.

In the sixth inning, the Crusaders attack would not slow down as they scored four runs on two hits and an error.  After a walk and two hit by pitches, pinch hitter Steven Moore singled scoring Austin Pace and an error would score Will Dannelley.  A wild pitch scored the third run of the inning.  Lance Brewer then singled in Moore.

The seventh inning would be no different for the Crusaders as they scored three more runs on just one hit.  Matt McCulloch with his first at bat of the year doubled down left field line scoring three runs.
