New Orleans, La.- Loyola women’s basketball coach DoBee Plaisance announced the signing of Amy Sprout from Dominican High School’s in New Orleans.
Sprout, a 5-8 guard/forward and versatile overall athlete, lettered four times for Dominican High in basketball, volleyball and track.
In her basketball career at Dominican, she was apart of three District 10-5A Championship teams in 2005, 2006 and 2008 and was also a class 5A State runner-up in 2005.
Sprout was the St. Joan of Arc Viking Classic MVP in 2004, All-District in 2006 and All-Metro in 2008. She also holds two track records for Dominican in the shot put and discus.
Sprout also played for the Kenner Angels in AAU basketball. The Angels won three state titles from 2003-06. Kenner was also the national runner up in 2003.
Comments from Head Coach DoBee Plaisance: “We are fortunate to sign such a well rounded student athlete. Amy is an outstanding woman of character, a dynamic student, and she possesses tenacity on the court that you rarely find. She is a great fit for our University and women’s basketball program and we are better today for signing such a great student athlete.”
