Ridgeland, Miss., The Belhaven College Softball Team (27-22, 6-6) lost both game of a double header on Tuesday afternoon to #10 William Carey University. Game scored were 0-5, and 0-8. With the losses, the Lady Blazers finish the regular season in 3rd place in the GCAC.

Game 1

Sarah Burns (16-10) took the loss in game 1. She allowed 4 earned runs, on 7 hits, in 5 innings. Mallory Meadows pitched the final 2 innings if relief, allowing 1 earned run, with 1 strike out.

Tiffany Ansley was the only Lady Blazer with multiple hits in the game as she had 2 of the 5 total hits for the Lady Blazers in the game.

Devin King (6-2) took the complete game shut out victory for the Lady Crusaders. King held the Lady Blazers to 5 hits and pitched her way out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 1st inning to set the tone for the rest of the game.

Game 2

Salina Cervantes (5-5) took the game 2 loss as she allowed 2 earned runs in 3 innings pitched. Mallory Meadows pitched 2 innings in relief.

Devin King (7-2) took the complete game win for the Lady Crusaders as she pitched 5 shutout innings. King allowed the Blazers only 2 hits in the game.

Britney Webb, and Tiffany Ansley provided the only Lady Blazers hits in the game.

Both teams will lock up again on Friday, at 6:00 PM, as they meet in the first round of the 2008 GCAC Tournament.
