New Orleans, La.- Loyola men's basketball head coach Dr. Michael Giorlando today announced the signing of Cameron Cates out of Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas.

Cates, a 6-7, 210 pound forward, was named All-District 6-5A following the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. He averaged 16 points and nine rebounds a game for the Jaguars and set two school single season records, for blocks in 2006-07 and rebounds in 2007-08. Named the team's MVP for his senior season, Cates led FMHS to the third round of the state playoffs and a 25-9 record last season.

"We are very excited to have Cameron join our team.  He comes from a winning program under Coach Charles Freet and we are looking forward to Cameron being a key player in our continued success," said Giorlando.
