MOBILE, Ala- The University of Mobile men's tennis program made the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship in its first year of reinstatement, but the Rams' trip was a short one, as Union (Ky.) defeated the Rams 8-1 in opening-round play.
The Union College Bulldogs set the tone of the match by sweeping doubles play and then cruised from there, nearing a shutout.
GCAC Player of the Year Alejandro Vial prevented the shutout by rallying to take the #1 singles match and pick up the lone Mobile victory.
