ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season by closing out the Berry College Classic with another victory; beating Shorter College 62-56 Saturday evening. Danielle Goodly and Gerica Johnson paced the Lady Rams with 21 and 14 points, respectively. Sherri McIntosh added 6 points and 8 boards in the paint for Mobile.

The opening half saw Mobile take a 30-27 lead into intermission thanks to 13 points from Goodly. Mobile used a 9-0 run about halfway through the period when they were down 16-15, to take a lead that they would hold till the break.

Shorter then took a 1-point lead early in the final half, but the Lady Rams answered with a 12-2 run to pull ahead 45-36 at the 11:52 mark on a bucket from Goodly. Shorter tied it up 48-48 at the 6:43 mark, but the Lady Rams again went on a run, using another 12-2 spurt to take a 60-50 lead and put the game out of reach. A pair of 3's off the bench from Blair Stevens helped ignite the run.

Mobile (4-0) next plays at the Columbus State University Classic Nov. 14-15.
