Baton Rouge, LA-The Tougaloo College Men's Basketball team traveled to Baton Rouge, LA to take on Southern University in what would be a great match-up. The Bulldogs (4-0) rallied back to defeat the Jaguars (0-1) in their season opener 78-67.
The Bulldogs came out playing as they took an early 3-0 lead in the first half, but Southern would come alive, but not too alive as they only had the Bulldogs down by three, 36-33, at the end of the first half. The Bulldogs would come back in the second half stronger than ever as they rallied back to a five point lead with 8:18 remaining in the game with a 3-point shot by Jeremy Cable. The Bulldogs would hold on to the lead for the remainder of the game.
Leading four Bulldogs in double figures is Jeremy Cable, ending the night with 17 points. Jermaine Hodges added 15 points, Marques Ruffin tacked in 14 points, and Keith Fisher contributed 13 points. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, November 18th as they host Crichton College of Memphis, TN. Tip-off is set for 7:00 P.M. in Kroger Gymnasium.
