NEW ORLEANS, LA �" Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) signed former Lafayette High School stand-out, Xavier Francis, to the men’s basketball team. Francis transferred from Lee College in Baytown, Texas, and will major in Business Entrepreneurship at SUNO.

The Lafayette, Louisiana native is a 6’3” guard who made his marks in both high school and college. As a senior, Francis led the Lafayette Lions to the 2008 Louisiana State Championship over H.L. Bourgeois. There he earned MVP honors as he set a state championships record for 18 rebounds in a game. At Lee College, Francis made his presence known as he set an NJCAA single-game record for rebounds (23) against Coast Bend College.
