Orso, a Satsuma native, was selected as one of 17 First Team All-Americans, while Romero was one of 34 Honorable Mention selections. They are the program's first All-Americans since Kory Melancon in 2001. Orso is the first first-teamer since Jay King in 1999.

Orso was selected as a DH after hitting .357 with 17 doubles, 15 home runs and 59 RBI. He also slugged .703 and posted a .465 on-base percentage. He also swiped 10 bases in only 12 attempts and drew a team-high 34 walks.

The 15 homers tied the single-season record at Mobile, previously set by Josh Kendrick in 2003. Both players also put their stamp on several career records at Mobile. Romero holds school records in home runs (36), RBI (193), and runs scored (204). He is second on the all-time hit list with 253 career hits.

Orso is second on the home run leader board with 27 in only two seasons, boasts a .379 career average, which is 7th best, and is 5th all-time with 123 career RBIs.

Both players are done with their eligibility at Mobile and are anxiously awaiting the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft June 9-10 to see what their next step will be.
