NEW ORLEANS, LA �" The Southern University at New Orleans men’s basketball team has signed former All-District guard Devence Hampton. Hampton is a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School.

Standing 6’0” and weighing in at 165 lbs., Hampton averaged almost 13 points, 6 assists and 3 steals per game in his last year with the Hurricanes. He also earned All-District honors in both his junior and senior years. Hampton’s presence was also valued by his peers when he was voted both Offensive Player of the Year as well as Defensive Player of the Year three seasons in a row.
