New Orleans, La. - Loyola's cross country and track head coach Andy Canegitta has announced the schedule for the men's and women's cross country team for the 2009 season.

The Wolfpack opens up the season in New Orleans at the Tulane Green Wave Invitational on August 28 at City Park.

In September, Loyola will host an invitational at Lafreniere Park in Metairie on the 12th. The meet is slated for an 8 a.m. start. On the 19th, the Wolfpack travels to Mobile to participate in the 37th Annual Azalea City Classic.

Loyola has three meets scheduled in October, with the first being the Gulf Coast Stampede on the 3rd in Pensacola, Florida. On the 10th at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Mississippi, Loyola will run in the Watson Ford Invitational. The final meet of the regular season is on the 24th at the University of Mobile Invitational.

For the GCAC Conference Championship, Loyola returns to Choctaw Trails in Clinton on November 7. The championship meet is set to start at 9 a.m.

The NAIA National Championship will be held in Vancouver, Washington on November 21. Last season, Loyola's Madeline Falcone qualified for the tournament after placing 4th in the GCAC Championship.

In only his second year at Loyola, Coach Canegitta has expanded the program to 24 runners so far, almost doubling last season's roster.
