Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced today that the winner of the 2009 Thomas Howell Cup is The University of Mobile.


The Thomas Howell Cup is awarded to the school with the highest number of points based on the order of finish in the various sports they participate in.  This marks the 18th time that the Rams have won the coveted trophy.  The following are the standings for this year:

1)  Mobile - 42 points
2)  Belhaven - 36.5 points
3)  Xavier - 34.5 points
4)  Spring Hill - 33 points
5)  Loyola - 31 points
6)  William Carey - 29 points
7)  LSUS - 24.5 points
8)  Tougaloo - 18 points
9)  Dillard - 8 points
10) SUNO - 7.5 points
