Clinton, MS - (Cross Country) The Dillard men's and women's cross country teams were in action this weekend, competing at the 2009 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships.  The men posted their best team finish of the season, capturing sixth place out of seven teams.
 
Top Bleu Devil finishers included freshman Byron Myles running the men's 8,000 meter race in 32:08, 14 seconds less than his previous best, for 26th place out a field of 53.  Senior Anthony Hingle ran the race in a time of 34:11, for 34th place; Sherman Coleman captured 39th place in a time of 35:37.  Xavier University won its fourth consecutive GCAC cross country title with runners placing in the first four spots, paced by Ray Walston with a time of 27:55.
 
This weekend's event concludes the 2009 season for the Bleu Devils cross country teams.  Dillard track and field teams will open their season on January 15, 2010, at the McNeese State University Indoor Meet in Lake Charles, La.
