DALLAS, Texas-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated Carroll College 1-0 at the NAIA Unaffiliated Tournament Wednesday afternoon.
Mobile (10-9-1) will battle NAIA No. 3 William Carey University Friday, Nov. 13 at 12:00 for the tournament championship and a bid to the NAIA National Championship.
Carroll College entered the game receiving 54 votes in the latest NAIA Top-25, good enough for a No. 29 ranking. The Lady Rams answered the bell with a stout defensive effort as the teams battled to a scoreless tie at the half.
Then, in the second half, Christy Lachappelle and Terri McCreadie worked the give-and-go for the winning goal. McCreadie took the ball from Lachappelle and went top corner to beat the keeper.
That is Mobile's 6th shutout of the season.
