MOBILE, Ala. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Spring Hill College goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp of St. Louis, Mo., has been named a 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete.

Bronenkamp, a junior, majors in English with minors in Spanish and Theology.  He returned to the squad this season and won back the starting keeper position following a head injury in 2007 that forced him to sit out his sophomore year.  This year Bronenkamp made 77 saves in over 1330 minutes in goal for the Badgers.

Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify. This season a total of 256 men's soccer players were awarded the honor by the NAIA.

Since 1989, Spring Hill College has had 99 student-athletes win NAIA Scholar Athlete recognition.
