New Orleans, La. - Sophomore Gina Gill, an outside hitter for the Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team, was recently honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association by being named to the NAIA All Mid-South Region Team for the 2009 season.

Gill, a native of Baton Rouge, garnered All-Region for the second time in her career. Gill was also named All-GCAC for the second time after leading the conference in kills with 3.9 per game. She totaled 444 kills on the year, which put her 10th on Loyola's single season list.

Gill had a career best 25 kills against Belhaven on Oct. 20, breaking her previous mark of 24 set last season.

Along with being the conference's top attacker, Gill was second in the GCAC in aces with 50 and ranked 9th in digs with 284.

Loyola finished the season with a 20-15 overall record, and were runners-up in the GCAC Tournament.
