New Orleans, LA- The # 4 LSU Shreveport Pilots (22-2, 11-1) defeated the Loyola University Wolfpack (13-10, 5-7) at the Den on Monday night by a final score of 81-65.

The Pilots shot the ball well in the first half as they made 15 of 28 (53%) while Loyola was just 13 of 35 (37%). LSU Shreveport did not shoot many from long range in the first half but were accurate when they did going two of three (66%) as Loyola shot 33% (3-9) from long range.

Greg Shyne led the Pilots in scoring with 11 points in the first half while Mark Jackson had five points. Derrick Parker, Quinton Washington and Isiah Bazile each had four points in the first half.

The Pilots held a six point lead at halftime, 35-29.

The Pilots continued to shoot the ball in the second half as they finished the game shooting 53% (30-56) from the field while Loyola shot 39% (26-66). The Pilots was an amazing 83% (15-18) from the charity strip as Loyola only shot 66% (8-12). LSU Shreveport also shot the best from long range going six of 15 (40%) while the Wolfpack made five of 18 (27%) from the three-point line.

Greg Shyne led the Pilots in scoring with 20 points, two rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes of action. Shyne was seven for 11 from the field including a perfect two for two from beyond the arc and was four of five from the free-throw line.

Brance Davenport finished with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Davenport was six of 11 from the field and two for two at the charity strip in 23 minutes of play.

Jared Stevenson also had 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Stevenson competed in 31 minutes for the Pilots and was four for nine from the field including three out of six from long range. Stevenson was three of four from the line.

Mark Jackson played in 20 minutes and finished the game with 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jackson was five for eight from the field and two of three from the free-throw line.

Derrick Parker had eight points and six rebounds. Parker was four of six from the field in 30 minutes of action.

Quinton Washington had four points in 10 minutes while Ernie Pickens had three points in 9 minutes of action.

The next game for the Pilots will be on Thursday night in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, versus the Crusaders of William Carey University, at 7:30 p.m. The Pilots won the first meeting 79-68 at the Dock on January 16th.
