Mobile (14-7, 7-5) visits Southern University at New Orleans Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 pm.
McGill-Toolen product Ji Kimbrough led the Rams with 22 points, hitting 11-of-16 from the charity stripe, while Kevin Calloway added 16 points off the bench and Treii Pace added 10 boards off the bench for Mobile.
James Burkes led a trio of Bleu Devils in double figures with 17 points and 8 rebounds.
The Rams out shot Dillard 51% to 31% from the field and won the rebounding battle 43 to 22. Mobile built a 29-20 lead in a low-scoring opening 20 minutes of play and then shot a blistering 70% in the final period to pick up the 14-point victory.
Mobile never trailed in the contest and the game was only tied up once at 3-3 with 17:55 left in the opening frame. The Rams busted out from that 3-3 tie with a 10-0 run in 3:26 with five different players scoring in the run. Dillard managed a 7-0 spurt later in the half to pull within 20-17 with 6:42 remaining, but Mobile righted the ship and took the 9-point lead into the break.
In the final period, the Bleu Devils got within 47-50 with 8:29 to play on a bucket from James Burkes, but the Rams answered with an 11-4 run to retake a double digit lead thanks to four points apiece from Kimbrough and Calloway.
