MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team snapped a 4-game skid by defeating Dillard University 50-41 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action.

In the game, Mobile sophomore Alice Honnery finished with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks, breaking the single-season school record for blocks with 99. The old record was 96 by Edmarie Lumbsley. The record-setting 97th block came 3:03 into the second half when Honnery swatted away Ariel Mitchell's shot attempt.

Morgan Melancon finished with 17 points for the Lady Rams, hitting 4-of-9 from 3-point range, while Davina Jefferson added 11 points off the bench. Guylene Nsiewe and Jazzmin Smith finished with 10 points apiece to lead the Lady Bleu Devils.

Mobile (13-9, 5-7) visits Southern University at New Orleans Thursday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 pm.

The Lady Rams out shot Dillard 38% to 24% from the field, and finished 6-of-18 from 3-point range compared to 3-of-19 from the visitors.

In the first half, the teams battled to a 23-23 tie and then traded leads to open the second period until the teams were squared up at 32-32 with 7:35 left. Alyssa Lane drained a 3-ball with 7:22 to give Mobile the lead for good at 35-32, and after a Dillard bucket to make it 35-34 in favor of the Lady Rams, Mobile went on a 13-4 run to take a 10 point lead, the largest lead of the evening.
