The Lady Pilots took advantage of SUNO shooting 15% (5-33) from the field as their defense forced them to take bad shots while the LSUS offensively, made 12 of 31 (38%) from the field.
LSU Shreveport shot 12 three-pointers in the first half making six from five different shooters. Callie Davis was the only to make more than one.
The Lady Pilots led comfortably at the half by 22, 37-15.
The second half of play was not as kind to the Lady Pilots as they only outscored SUNO by six but their dominating first half was enough to preserve the 28-point win.
The Lady Pilots honored their three seniors following their big win over SUNO: Renalda Stafford, Tish Flowers, and Valerie Huizar. Stafford scored three points in her regular season finale and had four rebounds in 19 minutes of action.
Flowers had double digit points as she finished the game with 10. She led the team in steals with 4 and had six boards in 31 minutes while Huizar played 33 minutes and had seven points and 6 assists.
Sharday Cotton picked up the double-double in tonight's win with 14 points and 16 rebounds in 25 minutes of action. The Lady Pilots dominated on the glass as they won the rebound battle 65-37. Cotton led the team with her 16 while TiKandis Edwards claimed 10 rebounds with 8 points.
Callie Davis had seven rebounds with 13 points as she was two for three for long range in 20 minutes of action as Tynekqua Warren had seven points and six rebounds in 16 minutes. Whitney Hollins had five points while Sylvia Hoffman finished with four.
The Lady Pilots could see SUNO again here at the Dock on Wednesday, March 3rd, as they will host the winner of the Spring Hill/SUNO matchup in the GCAC Tournament at 7:00 p.m. Spring Hill will play at SUNO on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. to determine who plays the Lady Pilots.
