Shreveport, LA- The #9 LSU Shreveport Pilots basketball team (26-5) had their way with the William Carey Crusaders (23-8) on Saturday night at the Dock eliminating them from the GCAC Tournament in convincing fashion, 89-53.

The Pilots secured their double digit lead with 11 minutes to go in the first half after a layup from Derrick Parker as the Pilots led at that point 20-9 and had a 23-point lead at the half, 44-21. LSU Shreveport continued to dominate their opponent as their lead increased to as much as 41 points in the second half.

Derrick Parker proved once again why he was the unanimous selection for the GCAC Player of the Year with his 22nd double-double on the season as he finished the game with 26 points and 16 rebounds. Parker made a season high 13 field goals as he was 13 of 21 from the field and had one assist, two blocked shots, and three steals in 29 minutes.

Brance Davenport scored 19 points after making six of 15 from the field which included three from long range and was four of five from the charity stripe. Davenport chipped in with six rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes of action.

Ernie Pickens was the only other Pilot who finished in double digits with 11 points going four of nine from the field, which included a three-pointer and was two for two from the line. Pickens electrified the crowd with several slam dunks; one coming after he collected one of his two steals in 14 minutes of play. Pickens had five total rebounds, one offensively and four defensively.

Greg Shyne was three of six from the field and a perfect two of two from the line as he finished with eight points, one assist, two rebounds, and one steal in 15 minutes of action.

John Anthony Anglin made a couple from long range as he finished with six points and had two blocked shots and one rebound in 15 minutes.

Jake Greene added a pair of buckets to the Pilots tally from way downtown as he was a perfect two for two from beyond the arc late in the second half. Greene finished with six points in 5 minutes.

Quinton Washington had four points and was two of three from the field. Washington grabbed four rebounds in 12 minutes.

Jared Stevenson and Isiah Bazile passed to their teammates tonight, combined they had nine of the team's 17 assists. Bazile had five while Stevenson had four. Both finished the game with three points; Stevenson played 23 minutes as Bazile played in 22 minutes. Stevenson had three rebounds while Bazile nearly got into double figures with 9 boards.

Jay Lincoln and Brandon Mims both had a great game for the Pilots defensively as the two combined had seven of the Pilot's defensive rebounds. Lincoln grabbed three while Mims rebounded four. Lincoln played eight minutes while Mims competed in 10. Caleb Washington had two rebounds in 15 minutes.

The Pilots advance to the GCAC Finals with tonight's win. LSU Shreveport will host the championship game on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Dock as they host the #3 seeded Belhaven Blazers, who defeated the #2 seeded Tougaloo Bulldogs in their semi final game, 73-67.
