Shreveport, La. - The Loyola University New Orleans women's tennis team
continued GCAC play on Saturday at the Cockrell Tennis Center against
LSU-Shreveport and came away with a 9-0 victory.
Claire Landry picked up two wins for Loyola (3-3, 3-2 GCAC) in No.1 action, shutting out Lauren Simmons in singles 6-0, 6-0 and teamed up with Katie Beargie for an 8-0 win over Anne Kelly/Lindsay Bomba. In No. 2 play, Hannah Neal/Frances Bonnin beat Katie Moak/Priscilla Erickson 8-4 and Neal defeated Ali Lieberman in singles 6-1, 6-0. In the final doubles match, Frances Sweeney/Rachel Crump won 8-5 over Lindsey Crane/Simmons.
For the rest of the singles action, Bonnin defeated Charli Beal 6-4, 6-0 and Beargie won 6-2, 6-1 against Erickson. Sweeney won 0-6, 6-2, 6-3 against Katie Moak and Crump completed the sweep for Loyola over LSUS (0-6, 0-6 GCAC) with a 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 against Lindsey Crane.
Loyola returns to action next Saturday in Hattiesburg with a match against William Carey starting at 10 A.M. The Wolfpack head into the contest with a three-match winning streak.
