MOBILE, Ala-- A pair of 2-out, 2-run homeruns sent Park University to a 5-4 victory over the University of Mobile in NAIA softball action Wednesday. The teams were scheduled to play two games, but a 1 hour 45 minute rain delay in game one canceled the second game.

Justine Riner picked up the win for Park, allowing only 1 earned run on 4 hits in 7 innings of action. Leslie Pickette took the loss for Mobile after giving up 4 earned runs on 7 hits in 5.2 innings.

The Lady Rams put at least one runner on in every inning, but could not do any damage until they put up a 4-spot in the bottom of the 7th after being down 5-0.

Emily Calder put Park on the board first with a 2-run bomb in the 4th, and then Jenn Tanno added a 2-run shot in the 6th, before they added an unearned run to take the 5-0 lead.

Mobile got its first hit in the 5th, when Nicole Walker ripped a leadoff double to center, but the Lady Ram bats could not push her home.

Mobile then put two runners on in the 7th before the 1 hour 45 minute rain delay halted things. After the teams retook the field, Mobile kept the rally going. Korie Fontenot pinch hit and was hit by a pitch to load the bags with nobody out and then Holli McLeod drew a walk to force home a run and put Mobile on the board.

Desiree Truett produced an RBI-groundout to make it 2-5 and Kirstyn Joiner popped up for the second out. Erica Bracey kept things going with a single that brought home a pair, but Riner got the final out to preserve the win.

Mobile (12-7) hosts the Gulf Coast Invitational Friday-Sunday in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Mobile will face Ohio Dominican at 9:30 am and UH-Victoria at 1 pm on Friday.
