ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The Spring Hill College softball team lost a pair of games at the Gulf Coast Invitational in Orange Beach, Ala. First, Grand View University slipped by the Badgers with a score of 1-0 and then Oklahoma Christian University also held the Badgers off in a 1-0 outcome.
 

Grand View (2-7) scored the only run of the contest in the 1st inning off an RBI single by second baseman Katie King and then rode the arm of Kylee Jones (1-5) to a complete game victory. Jones finished the day allowing six hits with a walk and a strikeout.

For SHC, Sam Brooks (2-6) went the distance and gave up seven hits and seven strikeouts with no walks in the hard-luck loss. Centerfielder Lindsey Taylor was 3-for-3 at the plate.

Oklahoma Christian also scored their only run in the 1st inning in a 1-0 victory as SHC suffered its fifth consecutive shutout.

Spring Hill (5-11) will next play Bethel University (Tenn.) at 9 a.m. and McKendree University at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in the tournament's second day.
