Shreveport, LA- The #18 LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team (15-6, 8-5 GCAC) defeated the Loyola Wolfpack (7-13, 5-11 GCAC) by a final score of 19-7 on Friday night at Pilot Field.

The Wolfpack got on the board early in the first inning as they scored two runs on two hit to take a 2-0 lead. The score would remain the same until the Pilot's six-run second inning.

The inning began on four straight single from Curtis Beaudoin, Shawn Moy, Kevin Smith, and David Bradley. The big blow in the inning came off the bat of Andrew Brouillette with a three-run homer down the right field line, his second of the season as the Pilots scored six runs on five hits to take the lead 6-2 after two.

The Wolfpack got a solo homer from Caleb Templet to lead off the fourth inning and trim the Pilot lead to 6-3. The Pilots answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning with Andrew Brouillette driving in his fourth run of the game with an RBI-double to left field, which ties him on the all-time LSUS career in double with Quinton Shamsabady with 49. Andrew Blubaugh followed with an RBI-triple off the center field wall to up the Pilot's lead to 8-3 after four.

The Pilots sent ten batters to the plate in the fifth as they scored six runs on five hits. Tyler Alton drove in the inning's first run with an RBI-single. Two batters later, following an intentional pass on Brouillette, Blubaugh drove in a pair with a two-run double to left center. Chase Wentz legged out a triple to drive in the fifth Pilot run of the inning.

The final run was thanks to an RBI-single by Beaudoin to give the Pilots a 14-7 lead after five complete innings of play.

The Pilot's offense was not through as they come through with five more runs in the bottom of the sixth as Brandon Bravata knocked the Loyola reliever, Alex Wolf, out of the ballgame with a two-run round tripper to left field, his second of the year. Brouillette later drove in his fifth run of the game with an RBI-single to left field. Wentz drove in another run with a triple followed by an RBI-single from Beaudoin.

Justin Ennis (4-0) pitched four innings to earn the win for the Pilots as he allowed four hits, six earned runs, four walks and five strikeouts. Turner Brasher tossed an inning and two thirds of one hit ball. Brasher allowed one earned run, two walks and two strikeouts.

Ben Suit was the third pitcher on the hill for the Pilots as he recorded one out, allowed two hits after just three batters faced. Suit then gave way to reliever, Corey Theriot who struck out two of the three batters he faced in the seventh inning.

The Wolfpack used three pitchers: Mike Kelly (1-2) took the loss after he allowed 10 earned runs in four innings of work. Alex Wolf allowed four earned runs in an inning and a third while Joel Gonzalez also allowed four earned after two thirds of an inning.

The Pilots scored 19 runs on 19 hits and played an error free game defensively while the Wolfpack scored seven runs on seven hits and committed two errors in the field.

The Pilots had six different batters with multi-hit games. Bravata was two for four with two RBI's while Tyler Alton was two out of three, also with two RBI's. Brouillette had a outstanding game with 5 RBI's and was four for four at the plate.

Blubaugh was two out of five with three RBI's. Wentz drove in two and was two for four while Moy was one for three with an RBI.

Smith also drove in a run and finished one out of three while David Bradley was one for two.

The next game for the Pilots will be tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with a double header against the Wolfpack at Pilot field. John James (4-0) will get the nod for the Pilots and will face George Smith (1-3) in game one. The Pilots will send Jared Mata (3-1) to the bump against Taylor Domengeaux (1-0) for Loyola.
