Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Loyola University New Orleans women's tennis
team saw their three-match winning streak snapped on Saturday
afternoon, falling 8-1 to William Carey at the WCU Tennis Complex.
Rachel Crump picked up the lone win for Loyola (3-4, 3-3 GCAC) by beating Kaci Lancaster 6-1, 6-2. Crump and Frances Sweeney almost picked up another point for Loyola, dropping their doubles match 9-7 to Hannah Johnson/ Ami Bareford.
Claire Landry/Katie Beargie fell 8-3 to Hollie Robinson/Jillian Fletcher in doubles. Robinson also took the No.1 singles match against Landry, 6-1, 6-1. In the final doubles match, Hannah Neal/Frances Bonnin fell 8-2 to Alexandra Kaluza/Anastasia Khabirova as William Carey (8-3, 6-2 GCAC) swept doubles play.
In the rest of singles action, Neal was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Kaluza, Bonnin lost 6-0, 6-1 against Khabirova, Beargie fell 7-5, 6-1 to Johnson and Sweeney lost 6-1, 7-5 against Fletcher.
Loyola returns to action next Saturday with a GCAC double header at home against Spring Hill and Mobile. The Wolfpack will face Spring Hill at 10 A.M.
