Kansas City, MO- The #9 LSU Shreveport Pilots (27-6) were defeated by the Oklahoma Christian University Eagles (23-9) in the first round of this year's Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship by a final score of 80-70 at Municipal Auditorium.

The Pilots shot 33% (12-36) from the field in the first half of play which included 30% (4-13) from long range while Oklahoma Christian made 13 of 27 (48%) from the field and five of 13 (38%)from beyond the arc. The Eagles led at the half by six, 38-32.

The second half of play saw much of the same with the Pilots making 13 of 38 (34%) attempts from the field, including four of 15 (26%) from the three-point line. Oklahoma Christian made the shots when they needed them, shooting 54% (12-22) from the field including 40% (2-5) from long range to outscore the Pilots 42-38 in the second half.

Oklahoma Christian put the game away late in the second half as they converted from the line. The Eagles shot 88% (23-26) from the line for the game while the Pilots made 12 of 17 (70%).

The Eagles had three scorers in double figures; Jeff Crocker had the game's high with 26 while Andre Vaughn had 18 and Jason Taylor with 16 including 12 for 12 from the free-throw line.

The Pilots also had three different scorers in double digits; Derrick Parker (18), John Anthony Anglin (15), and Brance Davenport (10).

Parker received his 24th double-double on the year with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He was seven of 16 from the field and four of five from the charity stripe. Parker had one assist in 33 minutes of action.

Anglin made five out of 13 from the three-point line, grabbed two rebounds, and had one steal in 23 minutes.

Brance Davenport scored 10 points including four of 14 from the field and two of seven from long range. Davenport had one rebound, one assist, one blocked shot, and one steal in 21 minutes.

Mark Jackson had nine points after going three of five from the field and three out of four at the line. He claimed three rebounds and had one blocked shot in 18 minutes.

Isiah Bazile had seven points, making one of five from the field and five of six from the line. He had three rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in 28 minutes of action.

Greg Shyne played 16 minutes and scored seven points. He was three of nine from the field including one of three from beyond the arc with three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Brandon Mims chipped in with four points making both attempts from the paint and had one steal in 8 minutes.

The Pilots finish the season with a final record of 27-6 as say farewell to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference after claiming the Regular Season Title and their 5th straight Tournament Championship. The next stop for the Pilots will be the Red River Athletic Conference for the 2010-2011 season.
