GAME 1
LSU Shreveport was the home team in the first game as it was the makeup game from the game originally scheduled back on Feb. 12th.
James struck out the first batter of the game and then surrendered back to back hits that put runners at first and third for Belhaven. James battled back and struck out the next two batters to end the Blazer threat with no runs in the top of the first.
The Pilots threatened in the bottom of the second inning as they left runners stranded at second and third that sent the game to the third inning still scoreless.
The Blazers took the lead in the top of the third inning scoring three two runs on five hits and one Pilot error. Following a Drew Dillard single, Lake Eiland singled to center and Dillard scored on the bobble by the Pilot's center fielder, Brandon Bravata, to give Belhaven a 1-0 lead.
The Blazers got another run after an RBI-double from Timmy Foster to extend the Belhaven lead to 2-0 after two and a half innings.
The Pilots rallied in the bottom of the third with five runs on four doubles. David Morgan led off the inning with a double and was driven by Andrew Brouillette with an RBI-double that appeared to be a home run as hit off the top of the wall and bounced back into play after hitting the secondary wall.
Kevin Smith drove in a pair with a two-run double to deep centerfield. Curtis Beaudoin kept the double rally alive with a two-run double off the right center field wall to give the Pilots a 5-2 lead after three complete innings of play.
LSU Shreveport scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Brouillette drove in his second run of the game with an RBI-single. Then Kevin Smith drove in his third run of the game with a sacrifice fly to deep center field to give the Pilots a 7-2 lead.
The Pilots added another run in the fourth as David Bradley scored after a dropped third strike from the Belhaven catcher Kyle Fezzell to extend the Pilot's lead to 8-2 after four complete innings of play.
LSU Shreveport scratched another run across in the bottom of the fifth inning after a sacrifice fly and an RBI from Bravata to put the Pilots up by seven, 9-2 after five innings of play.
Kevin Smith led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a solo-home run to put the score at 10-2 in favor of the Pilots. LSU Shreveport got one more run after an RBI-single from Stephen Hobbins to extend the lead to 11-2 after six.
Belhaven scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning but it was not enough as the Pilots' 11 runs were too much for the Blazers to overcome.
The Pilots scored 11 runs on 12 hits and made just one error in the field while Belhaven scored five runs on 11 hits and committed five errors defensively.
John James (6-0) looked sharp once again on the mound for the Pilots as he threw six and a third scattering 10 hits, half of those hits came in the top of the seventh, five earned runs, no walks, and seven strikeouts. James picked up his sixth win of the season in his eighth start to remain unbeaten.
Ben Suit came in to finish off the Blazers and put out the fire in the top of the seventh recording two outs and allowing just one hit.
Paul Faulkenberry (4-1) suffered the loss for Belhaven after the Pilots knocked him out of the game in the fourth. He threw three and two thirds allowing seven hits, seven earned runs, three walks and four strikeouts.
Andy Kuehn pitched two and a third innings in relief for Belhaven as he allowed five hits, one earned run, no walks, and two strikeouts.
Andrew Brouillette finished the game three for four with two RBI's while Kevin Smith was two for three with four runs batted in.
Chase Wentz was two for four but reached base all four times as he reached twice on errors. Curtis Beadoin was one for three with two RBI's while Stephen Hobbins finished two for three with one RBI.
GAME 2
The Pilots took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning after a sacrifice fly and a RBI from Andrew Brouillette. Belhaven tied the game at one in the bottom of the fourth also with a sacrifice fly and an RBI from Brandon Benton.
Belhaven took the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning after back-to-back doubles from Craig Dean and Shawn Diehl to take a 2-1 advantage after seven complete innings of play.
Belhaven brought their closer, Wade Broyles, into the game to face the Pilots in the ninth. After two quick outs, Broyles hit Moy to bring Hobbins to the plate with two outs. Moy stole second as Hobbins worked the count to two balls and two strikes. Hobbins hit the two-two fastball to center to drive in Moy to tie the game at two and to send the game to the bottom of the ninth.
The Blazers rallied for the game's winning run as Lake Eiland singled home the winning run to take the 3-2 win.
The Pilots scored two runs on five hits in an error-free performance in the field while Belhaven scored three runs on 10 hits and made one error.
Wade Broyles (2-0) got the win after blowing the save as he tossed one inning allowing one hit and one earned run. Turner Brasher took the loss for the Pilots after throwing six and two thirds.
Justin Ennis got the no-decision as he scattered seven hits and allowed just two earned runs, walked two and struck out five.
Andrew Brouillette was two for four with an RBI and Stephen Hobbins drove in the other run for the Pilots and was one for four.
The Pilots and Blazers will play another double header tomorrow with the first pitch of game one is scheduled at 1:00 p.m.
