Known for her defensive rebounding and shot blocking skills, Okpala will add a much-needed presence in the paint for the Lady Bleu Devils, who finished the 2009-10 campaign ranked last in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, with a per game average of 23.03 defensive rebounds and 35.52 overall.
"With the new GCAC teams, we're gonna have some new looks next season," said head coach Kiki Baker Barnes. "Bringing in a player like Nena will give us a larger presence at center and a better match up in the paint against some of our opponents."
In 2007, Okpala helped the Lady Indians to an appearance at the Georgia state championship game. She also competed on the volleyball team and was a member Key Club, Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
