Jackson, MS-The Belhaven baseball and softball games scheduled for
Saturday have been canceled due to inclement weather. The Blazer
baseball team was slated to play William Carey University in game three
of their Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Series following a doubleheader
split on Friday. The Blazer softball team was scheduled to take on
Bethel University (TN) in a non-conference doubleheader, but heavy
rains in McKenzie, TN forced the cancellation of those contests. None
of the games will be made up.
The Belhaven baseball team, ranked 10th in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll,
owns an overall record of 35-13 and are 23-7 in the Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference. Their next game is scheduled for Tuesday night when they
host Bethel University (TN) at Smith-Wills Stadium beginning at 6:00
PM. All the live play-by-play action can be heard via Stretch internet
through the Belhaven Athletics website beginning with the pregame show
at 5:45 PM.
The Belhaven softball team concluded the regular season with an overall
record of 48-6 and won with GCAC Regular Season Championship with a
conference mark of 13-3. The Blazers, ranked 6th in the latest NAIA Top
25 Poll will open the GCAC Tournament on Thursday in Gulf Shores, AL.
