COLUMBUS, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team ended the
2009-10 season with a 5th-place finish at the NAIA Unaffiliated
Qualifier at Bull Creek Golf Club Tuesday. Senior Maegan Rice carded a
7-over 151 (78, 73) to win the event and qualify for the 2010 NAIA
Women's Golf National Championships for the 4th-straight year.
Mobile qualified as a team in 2007 and 2008, and this is Rice's
2nd-straight year to qualify as an individual. She posted the best score
in each round and won by eight strokes over Greta Lange from Shorter
and Allyson Agee from Cumberland.
Shorter College won the tournament with a 96-over 672 (333, 339), while
Mobile finished 5th with a 119-over 695 (351, 344).
Taylor Kirby finished in a tie for 18th overall after shooting a 34-over
178 (89, 89).
The 16th Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championships will take place
May 25-28 at Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course in Rapid City, S.D.
