The Lady Knights remained aggressive throughout the match, a mark of Washington who was a star player at Long Beach State. Wynieka Anderson had 22 attempted attacks and executed 6 kills. Tashawna Hampton had 18 attempted attacks, andBlake DeLarge had 6 digs on the night. Gabrielle Carter had 12 assists on the night.
"Tonight's game showed us exactly what we need to work on, as a team. The girls did a great job at not giving up, and I thought we played well, as a whole," said Washington. "This group has a lot of talent, and they'll only get better as the year goes on. I'll be excited to see how they play, come midseason."
The Privateers' defense marked the night as they had 7.5 team blocks. Lauren Massulla had 14 digs on the night. UNO was led by Edina Dobi and Kaitlin Hatcher with 7 kills, each. Hatcher also had 15 attempted attacks, while Cassidy Asebroek gave UNO 27 assists.
SUNO's home opener will be on Saturday, September 4th at 2 p.m. against Concordia College-Selma.
