Tougaloo, MS-There was history made at Tougaloo College as the Lady Bulldogs Volleyball team played in their first ever match in the history of Tougaloo College Athletics. The Lady Bulldogs played host to cross town rival Belhaven University Lady Blazers. The Lady Blazers would take the 3-0 victory with a 25-6, 25-1, and 25-9 wins.
In the first set, the Lady Bulldogs came out strong as if they had been playing for years as they took a 2-0 lead early in the game, but the Lady Blazers would regroup and bounce back to gain the lead from the Lady Bulldogs, and the rest would be history as they would take the first set 25-6.
In the second set, the Lady Bulldogs would find themselves in a deep hole, and the Lady Blazers did not stop digging that hole as they would hold the Lady Bulldogs to only 1 point, taking the set 25-1.
In set three, the Lady Bulldogs would regroup and fight back, but it would not be enough for the Lady Blazers.The Lady Bulldogs would go back and forth with the Lady Blazers to make it a game, but the Lady Blazers would take an 11-9 lead and hold the Lady Bulldogs to those 9 points and take the set and the game 25-9.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Holly Springs, MS to play a doubleheader against Rust College at 3:00 P.M. and Philander Smith at 4:00 P.M.
