New Orleans, La. - Freshman defensive specialist/outside hitter Christal Hollins was named the GCAC volleyball Player of the Week for September 25th.  Hollins helped Southern University at New Orleans get back in the win column for a four-game winning streak last week.  The Lady Knights are 7-3 overall and 4-1 in conference.

Hollins had a total of 48 kills, 47 digs and 9 aces for the week.  Her week began on a high note when the former Ursuline Academy stand-out collected a season-high 16 kills and 17 digs against Dillard.  On Friday, at the Talladega Tournament, Hollins continued the week with a season-high 6 aces versus Fisk in addition to a block assist.  Against Talladega and Edward Waters, she posted 13 and 12 kills, respectively to help the Lady Knights improve their record.  Hollins' attack percentage for the week was 52.6%.
