Volleyball - Wed, Sep. 5, 2012

Mobile, AL-The Tougaloo College Volleyball Team traveled to Mobile, AL to take on #12 ranked Spring Hill College.  The Lady Bulldogs were defeated by the Lady Badgers by a score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-12).

The Lady Bulldogs were looking to keep up the momentum after coming off a 3-win weekend in Tuscaloosa, AL in the Stillman College Tournament.  The Lady Bulldogs were well aware that this would be a dog fight, as the Lady Badgers were ranked #12 in the NAIA preseason poll.  The Lady Badgers had an undefeated season last year, going 36-0 in the regular season.  The Lady Bulldogs would try to put up a fight with the Lady Badgers, but they would prove to be too much for the Lady Bulldogs, taking the 3-0 win.

Leading for the Lady Bulldogs was Dayane Souza with 9 kills and 9 digs.  Marcella Oliveira and Briana Murphy both chipped in 4 kills apiece, with Oliveira adding 4 digs.  Jana Williams tacked in 7 digs and Mariana Candelot added 11 assists for the Lady Bulldogs.  The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, September 8th as they host Victory University in their home opener in the Dawg Pound.  Game time is set for 1:30 P.M.
