Both of Dillard University's cross country teams began its season Saturday at the Wolfpack Invitational at Lafreniere Park in Metairie.
The women ran their race first, and a total of nine teams participated in the annual cross country meet including the University of New Orleans, the University of Mobile, Loyola University, Spring Hill College, William Carey University, Millsaps College, Mississippi College and Xavier University of New Orleans. A total of 66 women participated in the 5K race.
Andrea Foster crossed the finish line first for Dillard University as she posted a time of 25.53. Monique Waiters finished a minute later with a time of 26:53. Her teammate Dominique Hardin wasn't far behind as she finished with a time of 27:13. Brittany Smith crossed the finish line shortly after with a time of 27:50.
Dillard University's LaQuanda James, Sandreka Keller, and Breion Brown finished the 5K race with times of 34:20, 36:06 and 38.14 respectively. The Lady Bleu Devils finished in ninth place.
Dillard's next cross country meet will be on September 22 at the Louisiana State University (LSU) Invitational in Baton Rouge.
