Women's Basketball - Thu, Sep. 27, 2012

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Southern University at New Orleans players Janee Morton and April Perry were both named to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference team, announced today.

Morton, a 5-9 Senior from Detroit, Michigan averaged more than 12 points and 7 rebounds for the Lady Knights in 18 regular season games last season. Perry, a 5-6 guard from Long Beach, California was SUNO's second leading scorer with just under 15 points per game and handed out nearly 5 assists per contest.

"This is certainly an honor for both of these young ladies", said Head Coach Elston King. "To be recognized by the other coaches in the league for not only their talent but the contribution they make to our team success is something to be very proud of. Now they just have to go out and prove it on the court."

SUNO finished 14-11 overall last season and 9-5 in the GCAC, tied for third place.
