The Lady Bleu Devils volleyball team picked up its first victory at home against NCAA Division 1 Southwestern Athletic Conference opponent Alcorn State University in a three set sweep (26-24, 25-18, 25-20). 

Junior outside hitter Carolyn Baker had another dominating performance as she led Dillard with 17 kills.  Her closest teammate was junior right side hitter Danqi Li with five kills.

Dillard (2-5 overall, 1-4 GCAC) was accompanied by junior setter Courtney Devold as she poured in 17 assists and freshman setter Shelbi White contributed with 12 assists, even with a hobbled ankle. 

Senior outside hitter Megan Laday led the way on the defensive end with 14 digs and freshman defensive specialist Destinee Higgans pitched in with 10 digs of her own.

Alcorn State was led by sophomore setter Georgia Parsons as she racked up 39 assists in the loss.

The Lady Bleu Devils volleyball team plans to extend its winning streak on Saturday as they host Edward Waters College in a GCAC battle.
