Talladega, AL-The Tougaloo College Volleyball Team traveled to Talladega, AL to take on Talladega College in a crucial match-up for the Lady Bulldogs.  The Lady Bulldogs would cruise past the Lady Tornadoes in straight sets 25-21, 25-11, 25-14 to capture position of first place in the north division and set school record of most consecutive wins in a season.

With both teams standing at 4-0 in conference play, the Lady Bulldogs were looking to hand the Lady Tornadoes their first conference loss and capture first place in the north division of the conference.  Also, the win would give the Lady Bulldogs a five game winning streak, the longest in the program's history.  In set one, the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Tornadoes would battle back and forward, trading points.  But somewhere along the line, the Lady Bulldogs would get tired and trading points and go in for the kill, taking the set 25-21.

In sets two and three, the Lady Bulldogs would make it look too easy, as in set two the Lady Bulldogs would score the first 8 points before the Lady Tornadoes would score.  The Lady Tornandoes would continue to struggle and the Lady Bulldogs would capitalize on the struggles to take an easy straight sets win over the Lady Tornadoes to move to first place in the division.  The win puts the Lady Bulldogs at 14-6 overall, 5-0 in conference play.

Leading the way for the Lady Bulldogs was Dayane Souza with 12 kills, 14 digs, and 4 blocks.  Briana Murphy tacked in 6 kills and 11 blocks, Jana Williams chipped in 4 kills and 14 digs, Marcella Oliveira added 3 kills and 14 digs, and Mariana Candelot had 2 kills and 22 assists.  The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday as they play host to Fisk University in a conference match-up beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the Dawg Pound.
