Carolyn Baker displays amazing hang time on her serves.
Volleyball - Sun, Oct. 7, 2012
Outside hitter Carolyn Baker led the Lady Bleu Devils to a second straight victory as her team defeated the Lady Tigers of Edward Waters College (5-12 overall, 0-5 GCAC) in a three game sweep (25-13, 25-23, 25-17) in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) action.

Baker racked up 12 kills to lead her team to winning its sixth straight set.  Despite having six errors, Baker was strong on both ends of the floor as she produced three digs, two solo blocks and had a hitting percentage of .333.  Yesterday the Lady Bleu Devils (3-5 overall, 2-4 GCAC) defeated Alcorn State University in three sets.

Middle blocker Jamara Celistan had a strong performance as she picked up six kills in the game.  Outside hitter Megan Laday was also instrumental in the victory as she produced five kills and ten digs in the 3-0 victory over Edward Waters.  The Lady Bleu Devils have now swept the Lady Tigers in six straight sets dating back to the first battle in Florida on September 22.

Middle blocker Jessica Goods-Morris was brilliant on the defensive end as she had nine solo blocks, and also had four kills on the offensive end.

The Lady Bleu Devils volleyball team looks to extend its winning streak on Monday as they travel across town to face Xavier University (11-4 overall, 5-0 GCAC) in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) battle.
