Tougaloo, MS-The Lady Bulldogs' volleyball team hosted the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State University here today in the Dawg Pound.  The Lady Bulldogs fell short to the Devilettes in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 18-25, 14-25) to drop to 17-9 on the season.

After losing a tough one to Spring Hill on yesterday, the Lady Bulldogs were looking to rebound with a victory over the Devilettes today.  The Lady Bulldogs would look good in the beginning, jumping out to an early lead over the Devilettes and cruising to a 25-18 set win.  In set two, the Devilettes would turn up the heat.  The Lady Bulldogs would trail the Devilettes, but would fight back to tie the game at 23.  The Devilettes would score off a penalty on the Lady Bulldogs and would take the set 25-23 with a set point kill.  In set three, the Lady Bulldogs would try to bounce back, but the Devilettes blocking game would be too strong for the Lady Bulldogs and the Devilettes would go up 2-1 with a 25-18 set win.  The Lady Bulldogs would try to tie the match at 2-2 in set four, but the Lady Bulldogs would fall apart and the Devilettes would capitalize and take the set 25-14 and take the win from the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Dayane Souza, who finished with 16 kills and 23 digs.  Marcella Oliveira followed with 14 kills and 12 digs and Briana Murphy chipped in 5 kills and 12 blocks.  Mariana Candelot added 33 assists.  The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, October 23rd as they travel cross town to play former GCAC foe Belhaven University.  Game time is set for 7:00 P.M.
