Volleyball - Thu, Oct. 25, 2012

Tonight, a little over one hundred opposing fans served as the backdrop to the fight for conference win el numero uno. Prior to tonight's match, both Edward Waters College and Philander Smith College were the only GCAC teams who had not registered a win in 2012 conference volleyball play.

Thus, tonight's game was a hard-fought and emotional match that ended with the Lady Panther volleyball team procuring their first conference win. The match was held on the campus of Edward Waters in Jacksonville, Florida and emotions were as wild as the hurricane winds currently threatening the East Coast.

After a lethargic start, the Lady Panthers fought to end their conference losing streak. The Lady Panthers used a collective approach to advance to the GCAC Conference winner's circle tonight. Every Lady Panther pooled her athletic skills together to make this night a success as there were no individual standouts as all of the ladies worked together like a well-oiled machine.

The Lady Panthers understand that there is still much work to be done. However, the excitement brought on by tonight's victory is sure to keep the energy and morale of the Lady Panthers high and expectant as they travel to New Orleans, Louisiana to take on the Lady Blue Devils of Dillard University.

The Lady Panther's next home match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30th. This will be their annual "Pink Out" match-as they will attempt to spread awareness for breast cancer. Tuesday's game is set to begin at 4:30pm and will be immediately followed by women's (6:30pm) and men's (8:30pm) basketball games-all of which will be held at Mims Gymnasium. Lady Panther volleyball…alive and well!
