DECATUR, Ala. -- The University of Mobile softball team (48-10) remained undefeated in pool play after defeating William Woods University, 5-0 Friday afternoon at the 25th NAIA Softball National Tournament held at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex in Decatur, Alabama.

Linden Jones (20-4) won her second game of the day by pitching all seven innings allowing just one base hit, walking five and striking out nine.

Mayret Perez hit her seventeenth home run of the season and second of the day in the top of the second inning to put Mobile ahead 1-0.

The Rams would add another run in the top of the fourth inning on Karine Gagne's RBI single and tacked on three more in the top of the sixth inning thanks in part to Gagne's second RBI of the game.

As they had done earlier in the day, Mobile managed just five hits in the game and no one on the team had more than one hit in the game.  However, the Rams made the most of their opportunities as they improve to 2-0 so far in the tournament.

The Rams overcame a 3-0 deficit earlier in the day to defeat William Penn University, 5-4 in Mobile's first game played earlier this morning.

Mobile will play their third pool play game tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. against Simon Fraser University and again tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. in their final pool play game against Savannah College of Art and Design.

After pool play is complete, the top two teams from each of the four pools will advance on to Monday's double-elimination, quarterfinal action.
