            <description>&lt;p&gt;New Orleans, LA - Southern University at New Orleans took a big step towards bolstering its backcourt with&amp;nbsp;the addition of combo guard Melvin Davis who spent the last two seasons lighting up scoreboards for Delgado Community College.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Davis, listed at 6-0, 165 lbs, is a New Orleans native who prepped at John McDonough High School. &amp;nbsp;He was named to the All-Miss-Lou Conference team this past season after averaging more than 25 points per game. &amp;nbsp;For the season he had 10 games of more than 25 points including 9 games where he topped 30 points. &amp;nbsp;He poured in 38 points against Pensacola-Florida, a contest in which he knocked down 9 three-pointers. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&amp;nbsp;</description>

            <title>[Baseball] TranSouth/Gulf Coast Unaffiliated Baseball Awards Announced</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;PULASKI, Tenn. &amp;ndash; The Group Awards for the Unaffiliated Group of TranSouth Athletic and Gulf Coast Athletic Conference baseball teams have been announced. Seven of the Group&amp;#39;s eight teams are represented with a total of 25 student-athletes honored. The TranSouth and Gulf Coast baseball coaches selected the All-Group Team, as well as recognizing the nine best defenders on the Group&amp;#39;s Gold Glove team, by a vote in the coaches&amp;#39; meeting prior to the postseason tournament for the Unaffiliated Group at Martin Methodist Conference in Pulaski. The 25 honorees are now eligible for All-America and Gold Glove honors at the NAIA national level.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
