NASHVILLE- Fisk University junior shooting guard Cameron Lewis was named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes All American the school announced earlier this week. Lewis, a native of Nashville, came on strong in the second half of the season scoring at least 20 points in 11 of his final 16 games. Lewis becomes the second Fisk player to be named an All American in as many years joining fellow Nashvillian Darrell Miller.
"This is a dream come true for me," said Lewis. "I was so happy for Darrell last year and now I am an All American too. We worked hard during the offseason and that work has paid off. I have so many people to thank for this honor. I thank God for blessing me with this talent. Before every game I recited Philippians 4:13 because I know where my help comes from. My family has always supported me. Thanks to my teammates for pushing me. But special thanks go out to Coach (Jay) Smith for seeing what he saw in me. I am overwhelmed with happiness right now. It was a long tough season not being able to play with Darrell."
