Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced today the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending October 27, 2013.

Notes: Ran 5K in 18:08.32 to shatter her school record of 18:41.03, win individual title at GCAC Championships and qualify for the NAIA National Championships . . . Produced the fastest time at the conference meet since 1998 and did it with no one challenging her -- she won by more than 90 seconds . . . Third consecutive month she broke a school record (4K on Aug. 30, 5K on Sept. 21) . . . Became the second female in the program's 19-year history to post victories in consecutive races . . . It's her 11th top-5 finish in 19 collegiate meets and her fifth in as many meets this season (also three thirds in 2013) . . . Led Xavier to its eighth consecutive GCAC team championship . . . Continued steady improvement by a 4.0 English education major who could not regularly crack her high school team's top 7.
